Yes — Tulip is moderately toxic to dogs

Tulip toxins are concentrated in the bulb — dogs who dig up and chew bulbs are at highest risk. Flower and leaf ingestion is less dangerous but still causes GI upset. Store bulbs securely before planting.

Symptoms in Dogs

If your dog eats Tulip, watch for these symptoms (onset: 1-3 hours):

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Drooling
  • Depression
  • Increased heart rate (bulb ingestion)

What To Do

See vet if bulb was ingested. Monitor at home for flower/leaf ingestion. Cardiac symptoms require emergency care.
